In these times of austerity the need and ability to reduce technical violations for parolees in community corrections is very timely and paramount. With more intensive and targeted interventions we can reduce tax-payer burden in county and state facilities by the violations sanctions matrix in tune with some discretionary detention and using other community resources as a measure to send people to programming vs sending people back for re-incarceration. Stonex is the 3rd District Supervisor with the KY Division of Probation and Parole. He supervises staff in 7 South Central Kentucky Counties.Currently, Mr. Stonex is directing Kentucky’s only comprehensive Parolee Reentry Program titled PORTAL to Success. Mr. Stonex is also Lead Motivational Interviewing Trainer for the Division and an Adjunct Instructor at the KY DOC Training Division. His research interests lie in Evidence Based Case Management and Reentry Initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky and completed a 2-Year Planning Residency with the Barren River Development District.
