Program Details:
Writing a good sustainability plan alone it NOT going to keep
you going. Nor will it get the funding you need in these
tough economic times. Organizations must have the infrastructure and
implementable forward thinking plans. You must also have
solid, well developed project ideas before you seek funding from
outside resources.
Take the opportunity to learn more about the process that allows
billions of dollars to be awarded in grants to projects that have
developed innovative solutions for problems that are of concern to the
communities/populations served.
Successful sustainability and funding development plans have
the same factors in common;
- They address
pressing problems in an innovative way.
- They are carefully
planned, organized, focused, and, most importantly, convincing and
persuasive.
However,
creating effective, compelling proposals can be difficult if you do not
have a good understanding of the practical aspects of funding
development.
What you will Learn:
This four hour two-session webinar will include the nuts
and bolts of how to write a proposal, writing goals and objectives, the
grant makers perspective, developing a budget, establishing need with
hard data, developing solid evaluation mechanisms, creating in-depth
sustainability plans, learn how to understand the importance of
linkages, coalitions and partnerships when applying for funding and
where to find diverse sources of funding.
Finally, an important focus of the webinar will be how
to link grants with creating innovative projects linked to sustainable
communities, environmental/green economy, and technology, with
specialized components focused on Federal funding, the American
Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA- Stimulus) funding
among others. Program participants will learn;
-
Organizational Assessment and Readiness
- Effective Marketing
Strategies
- Financial Management
- Sustainable Strategies
- Fund Development

Interviewing Network Trainer (MINT)
Until this past June (2009) when she
retired, Dr. Bette Neville worked at the Associated Marine Institutes
in Tampa, Florida where she had been serving as Director of Treatment
for the previous 5 years. Her work there helped to lead the
organization in the implementation of evidence-based principles and
practices. Thankfully she could not stay away for very long
when Joyfields Institute sought her out. She returns now to
help others through training and development at Joyfields
Institute. We are privileged to have her on board as a
trainer.
Dr. Neville became a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network
Trainer (MINT) after completing the required training and is also a
Certified YASI (Youth Assessment Screening Instrument)
trainer. She has served as President and Vice-President for
the GA Federation of CEC and also served with AMI, a national
organization dedicated to helping troubled youth who have been
incarcerated or are at-risk. Her volunteer work has been serving on the
Boards of these organizations, helping with resource development, and
serving on the national team dedicated to making AMI the best in
providing services to troubled youth.
During her time in active service, Dr. Neville has worked in many roles
including Special Education and Special Projects Director in the Evans
