CORE SKILLS - II

Comprehensive Offender Re-Entry Action Planning

Following previous participants' feedback, Joyfields Institute has added an expanded 2-day Comprehensive Re-entry Implementation Planning component.  Working from a template, participants will complete their very own draft of a comprehensive offender reform and reintegration implementation plan adapted to the specific challenges they face at home.  This component removes the guesswork usually associated with creating the plan after they return.  At the end of the course, attendees will have created a comprehensive plan customized to drastically cut incarceration costs while enhancing public safety.

Although all can work from a hardcopy model, participants are encouraged to bring their laptops so they can work from an electronic template model to quickly create a plan while adapting the model to their unique challenges.  They will create a draft comprehensive plan that addresses areas essential for a successful offender re-integration plan.  The comprehensive plan includes:

  • Local Governance Structure

  • Steering Team Recruitment Process Plan

  • Creating Accomplishment and Action Priority Summaries

  • Gender Responsive Strategies

  • Collaborative Offender Accountability, Transition, And Supervision (COATS)

  • Roles And Responsibilities
